WELCOME

Athghin (pronounced “Ah‑Hin”) is a center for spiritual formation and regeneration for those called to be ministers of the Gospel and outposts of hope.

We exist to help pastors, missionaries, and spiritual leaders return to their first love, Jesus, and grow in the capacity to love with heart, soul, mind, and strength. We long to be a community of sanctuary and regeneration as we receive and participate in the love of God through beauty, hospitality, and community.

A community renewed, restored, and sent out by the presence, beauty, and grace of Jesus.

Our Vision

A spiritual formation center that invites others into practicing the love of Jesus through Christ‑centered community, generous hospitality, and the cultivation of beauty.

Our Mission

From a sun-
scorched land…

The world is desperate for the hope of Jesus. Those that God has called to be ministers of his Good News to the world are called to be outposts of hope, pointing all people to the beauty and goodness of God’s work in the world and inviting them to join in.

But many who are meant to be outposts of hope find themselves tired, isolated, and disoriented. We are busy and spiritually thin, empty of joy and hope. Cynicism and loneliness creep in. In a noisy, distracted age, our capacity to love has been diminished, and while trying to point others to God we have lost sight of him ourselves.

To a well-watered garden

Athghin offers an embodied environment of sanctuary to make space for the regeneration that can only be found in Jesus. Here, everyone who comes is invited to both receive and participate, like the inhale and exhale of life in the Spirit. Rather than bespoke retreats, we invite our guest to join in to our regular practice of rhythms that re‑train our attention and affection toward the Trinity’s presence in our daily lives: cultivating patient beauty, sharing generous hospitality, and living in intentional community. In this shared life, we hope guests rediscover the nearness and joy of abiding in Jesus and are sent back out into the world with new patterns of loving and being loved by Jesus, full of the joy and hope of his presence with us.

Our core values

Beauty

We gaze upon and cultivate beauty as an encounter with the presence
of Jesus and a participation in his restoration of the world.

We mirror God’s welcome by making space at the table, feasting together with friends and strangers, and receiving every guest as a gift.

Hospitality

We live in and invite others into a residential, rhythm‑shaped life with daily practices of prayer, work, and mutual submission that
form us in love.
